What is Shine Bright?
With the City of Windsor canceling Bright Lights in one of the darkest years of our lives, the community is coming together to shine bright. #ShineBrightYQG is an initiative to support our front-line workers, community, and spread some joy during this season.
People are encouraged to decorate their homes, online learning desks, and businesses for the holidays and put-up holiday lights all over our community. Let us also encourage each other to support businesses who light up our city this year by shopping local #shopyqk and support each other by decorating at home #ShineBrightYQG.
Although this has started as a simple Facebook event (https://fb.me/e/3iTXABADD), it now has grown exponentially.
The Goal of the Million Miracle Challenge is to encourage our community to support each other with acts of kindness and charity. Miracles can include opening the door for someone, writing a positive review, saying thank you to those serving us, starting a can drive, helping a neighbour, making a Christmas card to the elderly, or putting on a dance performance in front of a retirement home. The goal is to spread light and hope through this incredibly difficult time.
This is an opportunity for students to gain valuable volunteer hours, brighten up their homes, decorate their desks at school and home, and create a sense of community when we need it most.
